It's definitely fall here on Long Island. The farm stand is out of zucchini and the Canada geese are migrating along the Atlantic flyway. Great flocks of them are flying over the house in the morning and late afternoon. You can hear them coming long before you see them. They sound like the worst, out of tune high school orchestra you can imagine! I know a lot of people think they are pests but they really are beautiful birds, very magestic, and lovely to watch on the wing. And their babies are so cute. The Canada geese are one of the things that makes this my favorite time of year.
